Steven Wells, DPM, PhD has been in practice since 1997 offering the finest general podiatric care with specialties in limb salvage, diabetic foot reconstruction surgery, podopediatrics, sports medicine, wound care, arthritic problems, and aesthetics.

Dr. Wells began his postsecondary education at Lehman College in New York City before earning his Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine from New York College of Podiatric Medicine in 1997. After an internship in 1998 at St. Clare Hospital, Dr. Wells completed a residency at Interfaith Medical Center in 1999 and a Fellowship at SUNY Downstate in 2000. Additionally, in 2017, Dr. Wells received a PhD in Philosophy from Newburgh College.

Dr. Wells is Board Certified and licensed to practice Podiatry in both New York and New Jersey, with hospital affiliations at Brookdale Medical Center, Hackensack Meridian, and Richmond University Medical Center. He is both well respected and active in the podiatric community, with memberships in the American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA), the New Jersey Podiatric Medical Association, the American Board of Lower Extremity Surgery, the American Diabetes Association, the National Alliance of Woundcare and Ostomy, and the Academy of Physicians in Wound Healing.

Dr. Wells is also a former clinical assistant professor in the department of orthopedics at SUNY Downstate Medical Center, and an international lecturer and Surgeon of the Diabetic Foot and Lower Extremity Medicine. Dr. Wells is active in doing annual dynamic diabetes education seminars and screenings in several islands of the Caribbean including Jamaica, Belize, Carriacou, Petite Martinique, and Grenada. He is the founder and CEO of the Diabetic Foot Centre Group which is responsible for educating and training physicians, nurses, and health care providers on how to develop multidisciplinary foot centers for the purpose of Decreasing Lower extremity amputations for diabetes.

Being fluent in both English and Spanish, Dr. Wells makes all patients in his Edison, NJ practice feel welcome, while utilizing his impressive training and 23 years of experience to successfully treat a wide variety of podiatric needs.

Dr. Deepak V. Patel (also known as Dr. Dipak V. Patel) has a distinguished orthopaedic career. He has been trained in the field of Orthopaedic Surgery across three continents - Asia, Europe and North America. He obtained MBBS degree from Topiwala National Medical College (T.N.M.C.), Bombay, India in 1978. Subsequently, he completed orthopaedic surgery residency training from B.Y.L. Nair Hospital, Bombay and obtained MS (Orth.), D (Orth.), and FCPS (Orth.) degrees.

In 1986, he obtained MSc (Orthopaedics) degree from the London University, London, U.K. He was awarded the “Al-Saati” Gold Medal for an outstanding performance in the MSc Orthopaedics examination. He obtained further orthopaedic surgery training in London, U.K. He worked in the Knee Surgery Unit at Humana Wellington Hospital in London, U.K. under leadership of Mr. Paul M. Aichroth. Dr. Deepak V. Patel was involved in the preparation of a major textbook on knee surgery, namely Knee Surgery - Current Practice that was published in London, United Kingdom in July 1992.

In August 1994, Deepak came to U.S.A. He worked as an Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Clinical Research Fellow for 2 years in Indianapolis, Indiana, U.S.A. under guidance of Dr. K. Donald Shelbourne. From August 1996 to June 1997, Deepak worked as a Fellow in Sports Medicine and Shoulder Service at Hospital for Special Surgery and Cornell University, New York City, New York under supervision of Dr. Russell F. Warren. Between 1997 and 2002, Deepak completed the 5-year orthopaedic surgery residency training at University of Medicine and Dentistry - New Jersey Medical School (UMDNJ), Newark, New Jersey, U.S.A. In January 2003, he became Chief of Orthopaedic Surgery Department at East Orange Veterans Administration Hospital in East Orange, New Jersey. He worked there until July 2005.

Currently, Dr. Deepak V. Patel is a Board-Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon. He is a Professor of Clinical Orthopaedic Surgery at Seton Hall University, South Orange, New Jersey, U.S.A. He is affiliated with St. Mary’s Hospital in Passaic, New Jersey; St. Joseph’s Hospital University and Medical Center in Paterson, New Jersey, and St. Joseph’s Wayne Hospital in Wayne, New Jersey. Since March 10th 2021, Dr. Deepak V. Patel has been appointed as Associate Program Director of the Orthopaedic Surgery Residency, Translational Research and Education Program at St. Joseph’s University Hospital and Regional Medical Center in Paterson, New Jersey. Since March 10th 2021, he also works as a Clinical Director of the Ambulatory Sports Medicine & Musculoskeletal Program at St. Joseph’s University Hospital and Regional Medical Center, Paterson, New Jersey.

Dr. Deepak Patel has privileges at five Ambulatory Surgery Centers in New Jersey, U.S.A. His orthopaedic surgery sports medicine practice involves treatment of various sports-related injuries of shoulder, elbow, hip, knee and ankle. In the past 37 years, while working in India, United Kingdom, and U.S.A., Dr. Patel has acquired extensive clinical and operative experience in the management of various disorders of the cervical spine, lumbosacral spine, shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand, hip, knee, and ankle and foot.

Dr. Deepak V. Patel has won numerous scholarships and prizes. He is a member of several international societies such as SICOT (World Orthopaedic Congress), Associate member of the ISAKOS (International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery, and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine), and Fellow of the AAOS (American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons).

To date, Dr. Deepak V. Patel has given 168 podium (National and International) presentations and has published 92 articles (67 journal articles and 25 book chapters) on various aspects of orthopaedic surgery in peer-reviewed National and International journals, and textbooks. Dr. Patel was involved in the preparation of a major textbook on knee surgery, namely Knee Surgery - Current Practice that was published in London, United Kingdom in July 1992.

Dr. Deepak V. Patel is a caring physician, a skillful orthopaedic surgeon, a talented teacher, and an excellent writer. He is greatly loved and respected by his colleagues, orthopaedic surgery residents, medical students, and patients. He is a determined and dedicated individual with an immense patience and perseverance. He has a busy Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Surgery private clinical practice. Despite the extensive clinical practice, he continues to teach his orthopaedic residents and colleagues with boundless energy and enthusiasm. In the past 35 years, Deepak has traveled extensively to various countries in South America, Europe, Middle-East, and Far-East to disseminate his knowledge and to learn from the leaders of Orthopaedic Surgery.

His recreational activities include painting and playing sports such as cricket and ping-pong (table tennis).
